Tears are cleansing, purifying, and healing. These delicate, dangling tears are evocative of the flowers, candles, photos, and other ephemera that are often left at an altar or memorial site.
Vegetable papyrus papers are made from onions that are cooked, sliced thin, and pressed dry to reveal intricate and beautiful patterns.
This series is also symbolic of our current liminal or transitional state in the wake of a global pandemic, heightened nationalization, and extreme polarization.
