I have been “orchid sitting” for my mom while my parents are being “snow birds” down south.
Mom is quite protective of her “baby,” but I assured her I would take very good care of it.
Fortunately I found the perfect spot in my house- and my TLC has paid off- when I checked on her today I was gifted with the first flower.
Isn’t she lovely?
Simple beauty, simple pleasures. (plus don’t you love the pink wall?)
She is gorgeous and the wall is fabo behind…a perfect still life painting.
I was just gifted with my first orchid this past week…I have my fingers crossed that we get on well.
Thanks Donna, ah Mother Nature, artiste extraordinaire. As for the orchid, I am learning two things- the perfect spot for light is crucial, and if you have good light in a bathroom, perfect. They love humidity. Second, water only a little once a week, feed every two weeks with orchid food when they are blooming. Good luck and enjoy!
