At my age (turning 69 this year) I think a lot about all my art and what I will have to leave behind when we inevitably relocate to a care home. I get immense joy each day glancing at my walls as I walk by engaged in mundane quotidian tasks. Will my family put most of it in dumpsters? Can they appreciate the artists and their skills they way I do? Many of the pieces are from trips we took and places we visited around the world. However, I do remember some bible verse that cautions, “lay not your treasures on earth.” Oooooops!
Pam, as a creator and a collector I relate whole heartedly to your questions and sentiments regarding our “earthly treasures”. At the end of the day, I too, get immense joy making, viewing, sharing and collecting and where it will end up, who knows? It’s all part of the great adventure! Happy almost birthday!! Mine was last month and I am also embarking on a new decade come next year. Blessed to be here sharing all this beauty and wonder with people like you. Thank you for weighing in!
