Back to Portfolio -- Tea Bags

Tea Bag drawings have become part of my daily practice. This came from a desire to draw from life on a consistent basis, to observe, be present, and notice the extraordinary in the ordinary; beauty in the lines and folds, the play of light and shadows, and the range of sepia shades.

It also speaks of ritual and connection. Tea itself has numerous historical and cultural implications, social, medicinal and healing. I make a cup of tea for my husband every day which is a part of our daily routine. This is also a quest- to see where this will lead or if, indeed, the journey is the destination.
